COVID-19 Clinic Policy

I wish to welcome you back to the clinic and to be rest assured that I have taken steps to treat you in as safe an environment as is possible under the current circumstances that we find ourselves with regard to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

The steps I have taken to mitigate the risks of transmission of the virus are as follows:

Appointments can be made/altered by contacting me on 07867797790. To begin with, there will be no reception staff and I will be working in the clinic by myself. Please leave a message if I do not answer.

If you are considered to be at high risk from the coronavirus (you have a serious underlying medical condition(s) and have been shielding from the virus) it may not currently be appropriate for you to have face-to-face treatment at this time. Please contact me for further advice.

Treatments are being staggered through the day at one hour intervals to avoid any cross-over between patients attending the clinic. Therefore, when you have an appointment, please present yourself to the clinic only at your allotted appointment time. Do not turn-up early as the clinic door will be locked. Also, try your best not to be late as this impacts on our ability to social distance with other patients.

When travelling to your appointment, where at all possible, please avoid using public transport to lessen your risk of bringing the virus into the clinic.

We ask that patients attending the clinic for treatment wear a mask, which covers the nose and mouth. This can be cloth/material or a surgical mask. If you suffer with hay fever or asthma and have a cough due to this at the time of your treatment, we ask that you wear a fluid resistant surgical facemask.

On arrival, patients will be asked to wash their hands thoroughly.

I will be wearing the appropriate level of PPE to perform Osteopathic/Acupuncture treatments, which includes a fluid-resistant facemask, gloves, apron and eye protection.

We have increased the level of cleaning at the clinic. All contact surfaces including the treatment couch, pillows, desks and door handles will be cleaned between every patient. Other areas in the clinic such as the waiting room and toilet will also be regularly cleaned.

You will receive a screening telephone call approximately 24 hours before your appointment to check that you are not showing any signs of illness associated with COVID-19.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE CLINIC IF YOU ARE SHOWING ANY SIGNS OF COVID-19. These are:

  1.  New, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  2. High temperature – this means you feel hot to the touch on your chest and back, you do not need to measure your temperature
  3. Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you cannot taste or smell anything or things smell or taste different to normal.

If you wish to bring another person with you to your treatment, this is restricted at present time to ONE other person. They will be asked to perform the same routine of hand washing and facemask wearing as you and to wherever possible social distance from me during the treatment.

In summary….WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

TURN UP ON TIME. NOT EARLY AND NOT LATE.

WEAR A FACEMASK/COVERING WHEN YOU ENTER THE CLINIC

 WASH YOUR HANDS

IF YOU ARE UNWELL, NOTIFY ME AND DON’T COME!!

The rest is up to me and be assured that everything practical has been done to manage transmission risk where people cannot be 2m apart.

I’m looking forward to seeing you very soon.

Kind regards
